Gas and electric ovens can be either built in or freestanding.
Built in ovens, are incorporated into the kitchen cabinetry. Built in ovens usually have a separate cooktop which may be located in a different location in the kitchen.
Freestanding ovens usually have the cooktop incorporated on top of the oven (all in one unit), and can be placed straight onto the floor in the kitchen.
