VICTORIA - COVID19 RESPONSE


In line with stage 4 COVID restrictions in Victoria Jims Electrical will be responding to:

  • Critical repairs to residential premises, where required for emergency or safety
  • Construction of critical and essential infrastructure and services to support these projects, and other construction in line with restrictions
  • If you do not have internet/phone this is an emergency as telecommunications are exempt due to individuals requiring access to Telehealth and medical services as well as the ability to work from home.

Urgent Repairs

Under the Residential Tenancies Act 1997, urgent repairs in a property are:

  • Dangerous electrical fault
  • An intercom/access control issue that is causing people to either be trapped in a building or makes the property unsafe.
  • Failure or breakdown of any essential service or appliance provided by a landlord or agent for hot water, water, cooking, heating, or laundering
  • Failure or breakdown of the gas, electricity or water supply
  • Burst water service
  • Blocked or broken toilet system
  • Serious roof leak
  • Gas leak
  • Flooding or serious flood damage
  • Serious storm or fire damage
  • Any fault or damage in the premises that makes the premises unsafe or insecure
  • An appliance, fitting or fixture that is not working properly and causes a substantial amount of water to be wasted
  • A serious fault in a lift or staircase.

We are operating under COVID-19 high-risk procedures:

  • We are asking our customers to stay out of the room/area while we work
  • We are asking our customers to wear masks in our presence (and will supply if needed)
  • We are sanitising on arrival/exit of every job and changing masks between jobs
  • We are screening customers prior to our arrival for your safety and ours.
  • We are in close contact with Master Electricians and Energy safe Victoria to ensure that we are only attending to jobs that are defined as emergencies and are maintaining our high standards of service and safety
  • Our tradesmen health and safety are our top priorities and if any of our tradesmen do feel unwell they will be following procedures and being tested.

We understand that this is inconvenient but we have a duty of care to look after the health and safety of our Electrical team members and our other clients whilst they are on-site in your homes and businesses.
